Since June 2020, I've had the unique experience of interning for this great magazine! I started as a staff writer, but throughout the spring I was promoted to a vertical editor. Throughout this experience I've been able to improve my written communication skills, but more importantly, I've been given the creative freedom to write about whatever I want and truly fuel my soul. This really is a special magazine.

Cultural Reset: Issue 11

Freelance Writer

- Write editorial pieces that fall under categories like: Self-Care, Wellness, Dating & Relationships, etc.

- Coordinate my pitches with the Creative Director outside of my day job

- Research influencers to interview and come up with new angles for pieces that have been done

Vertical Editor

- Manage an editorial team with three writers and one editor in weekly pitch meetings to create content for my column, Dating & Care

- Work closely with the social media team to scout influencers to interview and do profiles on

- Ensure my writers utilize the best SEO practices and conduct interviews with social media influencers

Staff Writer

- Create graphics on Canva and Procreate to engage readers in stories while improving my skillet in journalism

- Pitch original ideas to the Editorial Director to compete for a feature in the print issue

- Collaborate with an editorial team to write 1 op-ed article every week (300-700 words)
